We met Tatianna and Antoinette right before the pandemic and just as everything was booked and set in stone…COVID happened. The couple had to do a huge pivot and reschedule all of their plans. Well. not all of them. The two decided that they were still going to go ahead and get married but the big party that they envisioned would have to be postponed.

Luckily for them, all of their vendors were very flexible and this year (2021) they were able to have their big celebration with all of their friends and family!

The two started their day at a cozy home in Old Town Alexandria. The couple got ready and took photos with their wedding party while not seeing each other until jussssst the right moment!

The First Look

Antoinette waited for Tatianna on a street corner a block away from the house. A tap on the shoulder signaled Antoinette to turn around and see her bride for the first time that day and it instantly bought tears to her eyes. Tatianna embraced her spouse and ensured her that she felt all the love.

After a few sweet sentimental moments, we walked around town and took care of some portrait shots before their ceremony. Always a great idea for those couples who want to mingle with guests at cocktail hour (get your portraits done ahead of time).

The Ceremony

The two exchanged very personal and sentimental vows to each other in the presence of their loved ones. They laughed, they cried and even though they were already married, it felt like they truly made it official at this moment.

Cocktail Hour

They loved mingling with their friends and family but they still made some time to spend with us, their photographers :) So we were able to spend some more time with them and got them awesome shots of just the two of them before the reception started.

The Reception

Everyone’s favorite part. I mean, obviously lol These two had a super sweet first dance and then surprised their guests with a TikTok choreographed dance Up by Cardi B. Everyone cheered and it really just set the whole party off!

Cedar Knoll Inn served an amazing meal and the DJ kept the party live. Everyone had such a great time and I think we can all agree this celebration was worth the wait!
