She works closely with couples as well as other wedding vendors to help design elegant floral decor for luxurious weddings that accent each couple’s style.
When Choosing your Florist…
Look at Options via Instagram. You can search the hashtag #WeddingFlorist but to be more precise you should probably search for florists geographically close to you, so you can try using hashtags like #BaltimoreFlorist , #DCWeddingFlorist or #MarylandFlorist.
From there you can start to determine what style you like best. Yes, just like photographers Florists have different styles and nuances that they like to work with. Also look beyond their work style, how are they as business owners? Are they consistent, professional and reliable? Do they appear to be friendly and helpful? Yes, you are hiring them for a service but you are also personally relying on them to help with one of the most sentimental days of your life. Make sure you choose someone you feel comfortable with that responsibility.
If you couldn’t find exactly what /who you were looking for on Instagram ask around on Facebook. If you have an honest network of friends, someone may be able to give you a great word of mouth recommendation!
Have a Color Palette in mind. It’s always great to Have a Pinterest Board to show what ideas and designs you like best. Keep in mind that some flowers that you have your heart set on may not be in season. If you need help materializing your vision, most florists are more than willing to give suggestions and recommendations to best fit your day.
Consider your venue. How big is it? What is the theme? How can your florist help transform the place into a destination that feels uniquely yours for the day?
Once you find a Florists work that you love, reach out to them and start asking questions! It’s always great to meet with your vendors in person before booking them. Ask about their Packages and Perks of booking with them. Tell them about your day and inquire about their availability. Discuss your budget and payment plans. More than likely your florist will give you ideas that you never even thought of before like florals for your engagement session or a separate small bouquet to toss during the reception.
INSIDER TIP: Most Brides that we talked to while creating this blog spent ranged from $500-$4000. The average cost of florist in our area is $2500. (of course everyone is different depending on their desires).
We’ve also heard of some DIY Brides Growing their Own, Ordering from Etsy or Renting Flowers from Something Borrowed Blooms but if you’re looking for a local artist with a professional personal touch, We recommend booking your Florist 9 months prior to your wedding.
