For the sake of love,
We flew to El Paso, TX and then drove an hour and a half to Alamogordo, New Mexico to visit the largest white sand desert in the world (compiled of pure crystal white gypsum). The White Sands National Park is 275 square miles of powdery soft white sand dunes at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and our new friends could not think of a better place to celebrate their engagement.
We met up with Heather and Robyn to shoot their engagement session as the sun set beyond the endless sea of sand. We hiked up a steep dune to get the best vantage point and even though the dry heat was stifling we captured some of the most romantic photos of these two lovers. We gave them an opportunity to recreate their original proposal which didnt take place at this magnificent location (just a little something to place in their memory banks and also a great photo opportunity). We continued to have fun as the sun slowly dehydrated us lol
Fun Fact: it's so hot and dry out there that as soon as you begin to sweat it evaporates so when you do go please hydrate before you go and bring water!
To end our shoot, Heather and Robyn bought out this beautiful woven turtle blanket for us all to sit on and watch the sun disappear behind the mountains. We meditated together and shared lifestories before heading out.
It was an unforgettable and remarkable experience that we can't fully put into words. As a husband and wife wedding photography team, we can say that this experience stands as a highlight of our careers. Spending time with another couple who loves deeply and witnessing Heather and Robyn's love journey against a backdrop of ethereal white sands is a privilege that we treasure.
